Dog Food Eater

I was wondering about dog foods, and especially about dog snacks. When developing the treats do the manufacturers rely strictly on the dog's response or do they have a person who eats the item and then gives a verbal evaluation? Probably not. Dogs love to eat disgusting things that most people would never find enjoyable. But, it sure is fun to think about that person who when asked what they do for a living gives the response, "I'm a dog food tester. I eat dog food to see if it's any good or not." LOL
