Opinions and theories both contain observation and speculation, but hopefully the theory contains just a wee more research than the average opinion does. ((But jaded research doesn’t mean a whole lot if it’s main purpose is to simply back-up your opinion… oops, I mean theory!))

"I like Jesus, I just don't like His followers."

Truth is, if this person really does like Jesus, they would do what He said and live the kind of life He exemplified.

Their actions show they really don't care too much for His followers... or for Him either.

What Do You Listen To?

What Do You Listen To?, a photo by pdw's atelier on Flickr.

False prophets come from every venue and religion. Their words are not from God, even though they claim they are. Be on guard against such messengers of spiritual matters. Christ was quite outspoken about exposing false spiritual teachings and their actions. If you ever question a spiritual statement you've heard, just see what Jesus had to say about it. You can't go wrong by using his teachings as your guide-stick for knowing the truth.

Then the LORD said, "The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds. (Jeremiah 14:14)

It's not saying much for our art museums when the buildings are more impressive than the art they display.

So, if everyone is psychologically or emotionally dysfunctional, does that mean that no one is terminologically dysfunctional?
?
Nawwww.
Just read a few blogs and you'll see that some folks are so incredibly dysfunctional
that the phrase "everyone's dysfunctional" doesn't have much validity.

Party!

Are you a real party-goer?
Really?
Some people are quite impressed.
Not me.

Nothin' to be proud of.
There are tons of positive accomplishments to put on one's resume... but partying ain't one of them!

The absolute hardest prayer for anyone to pray is the simple "thy will be done".

Our natural inclination is towards "my will be done", no matter what we might tell ourselves.

Titles (Bread of Life) - Winter

Titles (Bread of Life) - Winter by taaos

The vast multitude of personal titles pertaining to Christ express many aspects of His importance and purpose.Titles, such as: Christ; Savior; Yeshua; the Gate; the Way; the Path; the Truth; Prince of Peace; the Great Divider; Sacrifice; Almighty God; Bread of Life... the list goes on and on and on. Never has there been one like the Messiah... never has one had so many titles expressing who they are.

The winter version of Titles falls at #21 in the 35 part suite.

Bad Religion

If you detest and are appalled by bad religion, give yourself an A+... you share the same sentiments that Jesus does! He spoke many words on the trappings and hypocrisy that make-up man-made religious practices. He doesn't want us to go down that dead-end road of death.

But if you also run from the Holy Spirit when He guides you towards the true and authentic way to God, give yourself an F!! You are now at odds with Jesus and the gospel which He brought... and admonishes us to whole-heartedly follow. His will is that we open the door when He stands there knocking. His path is quite narrow and not heavily travelled, but it is the way to truth and life.

Positive Negative Traits

We're so accustomed to 'disapproval' being an oppositional trait associated with negative feedback, we tend to overlook that disapproval can be one of the most positive, caring, and loving traits a person can admonish.

Know when to listen.

Life is Good, or Is It?

Before speaking a "life is good" sentiment, remember… for multitudes of people life has NOT been good, and even for those who it has… tomorrow could change that quite quickly.

"Life is good" is a statement only relevant to a precise moment in time. The very second the phrase leaves a person's lips, anything and everything could happen which would completely nullify the sentiment and make it no longer valid to that individual.

Additionally, a "life is good" statement comes across as arrogant and uncaring when heard by a person who's life is stricken with pain and hardships.

The lyrics go, "Life's been good to me SO FAR"… don't forget the "SO FAR".

Power Outage

Power Outage, a photo by pdw's atelier on Flickr.

I live in the middle of a forest. I'm accustomed to losing my power for days at a time (power lines and trees don't go hand-in-hand). An outage is a great inconvenience but we adjust to it… somewhat.

But for those living in an area with very few power outages, all it takes is a few hours with no power to drive many up-a-tree! (Of course they don't have many trees to begin with. LOL)

It's all what you get used to.

Don't Blame Me

When we play the blame game,
we might attempt to include
everyone and everybody…
including God, but it is
still 'self' who is our
own worst enemy.

Thank goodness God is patient,
understanding, and extremely forgiving.
He is quite aware of our shortcomings,
frailties, lame excuses, and
natural tendency to err.
He recognizes the mess we create for
ourselves and provides a way out...
which He offers to all who are
willing to accept it.

Living in the 21st Century

So many of the established signs of an unhealthy society are rapidly becoming more prevalent. What’s most alarming is at one time these societal traits were scattered among individual nations… now they’re becoming the norm on a much larger global scale.

Admonition to ‘read the signs before it’s too late’ comes near the conclusion of The Alpha & Omega Suite. It’s worth taking a serious listen.

I Don't Hate... I Think?

Very seldom
have I ever heard
someone come out
and say “I hate God”…
and yet it sure seems
like so many go
about our lives
as if we do.

((We are told to put our priorities on both God and on other people instead of on self. How great do we succeed here?))

Note to English teachers...

You will notice I occasionally use the somewhat accepted (but normally rejected) reflexive prounoun 'themself' in my comments and posts.
Why??
Because our politically correct society no longer accepts, or even understands, using gender specific pronouns such as 'himself' to refer to a group containing both genders.

Just another example where by trying to avoid offending someone, we are making things more complicated, and must throw away the book.

(Dictionaries before the 1970s are becoming more useless all the time.)
