Pseudo Age

Here's slight synopsis of a combined practical/theoretical paper I'm writing...

"Living in a Pseudo World"
Historians tend to break down human history into various Eras termed as Ages. They have the various ancient Prehistory Ages (Stone, Iron, etc) and the more recent Eras (Enlightenment, Early Modern, Industrial, etc) along with everything in between. Though the term Contemporary Age is often used referring to the time in which we live now, I came up with my own cynically-centered term. I like to say we are currently living in the PSEUDO AGE. We are living at a time when people collectively have garnered and accumulated vast knowledge, but individually we accept the bogus as equal to the real. Our incredible advancements are scamming and fooling us into believing that everything and anything we currently decide upon has equal and valuable merit in the grand scheme of things. We lump our misses along with our successes and are not always able to differentiate between the two.

Self Empowerment

I found this in an old notepad....
There's a possibility that the bombs which start destroying American property will not be launched by an overseas enemy but will come right from within. In our educative efforts, we are elevating feelings of separation, despair, anger, alienation, and inner rage within some as we are lifting up and empowering others. We are already seeing this leading to a feeling of being justified to go ahead and do the wrong thing no matter what the consequences. As the world becomes a better place for some, it also becomes a worse place for others. Those are the ones who will enjoy striking back in whatever form they see fit.

Since these feelings are so concealed deep within, it's easy for them to go under the radar of the professional experts until the deed has already happened and everything becomes hindsight. As the V for Vendetta mentality emerges and makes it's impact, it won't necessarily be big government which is their target, instead it will be people and institutions much closer to home.

(I had written this as future events but can see how it's had some real world reality already. I know there will be far more in store since our society is bringing it on.)

Respect

Respect
Not respecting and disrespectful have come to mean two different things.
It's perfectly alright to not respect a person or thing. Respect is something that has to be earned. You respect them because they have earned that respect, either to you personally or through actions and deeds within the greater realm, but you are not required to show mock respect when it is dumbfounded and misplaced.

Disrespectful is a negative trait. It has little to do with the object of your scorn, but everything to do with your own actions and attitude. It has to do with one's own lack of character. It becomes an even greater offense when directed towards a person or thing which deserves respect through their own high conduct and history but you have chosen to ridicule instead. Your actions put you at fault.

A good simple rule of thumb is to give respect where respect is due, but avoid being disrespectful even when it might be deserved. By following such an attitude you continually take the high road and lose very little in the process.

Facebook

Facebook Alert!!
I learned this the hard way.
Do you use a Facebook app on your smartphone?
If so, the monstrous thing is sending your exact location by default every time you message someone or respond to a message. I'm assuming this is if the recipient wants to use it and view your location (like my stalker did). When I learned of this I went into the settings and turned it off. But why is it the default setting?

In the message window I could see a little map icon which they had requested and when I clicked it, it brought up a Google street view of my house!!! I kid you not!
How many of us are aware this is taking place? I guarantee not many of us.
