Buying Garbage

It almost seems like the more successful the blockbuster film, TV show, or book, the less I can relate or enjoy it. It makes me question where the public's head and heart is when they so enthusiastically spend their money on such well written and lavishly produced garbage. Arguably, it could be assumed that being out of touch with popular taste is a positive thing in this day and age when we are embracing more and more questionable values in our entertainment and desires. For decades persons of high moral standards from every walk of life have been advising to "turn the television off". Maybe I'm a slow learner, but I'm finally comprehending where they're coming from. Some things aren't worth wasting one's time and resources with.
