Sentimental

I love how so many of the old 30s and 40s B&W movies would have at least one sentimental scene with the angel choir background music (my terminology). I'm so used to that, when I see a newer film that doesn't include those scenes, I feel like something important is missing. And no, having someone jump twenty feet in the air and do a martial arts kick that brings down the much larger evil opponent doesn't really make up for it!
