I am currently scoring 'Etched In Stone' and am finding how difficult it is to write notation for a song with constant tempo changes. Though this is an original song which I could sing and play with no thought or concern to tempo variations, when setting it to sheet-music I'm sure having to do much analysis to determine what exactly is taking place. I knew that the tempo changed in the middle of the bridge but now I see it changes again near the end of the bridge.
It's kind of like breathing air. We do it naturally without analyzing what is taking place, but when we start looking into it in depth we see there's all kinds of little things taking place.

- In those wee hours of the morning; in those quiet, private times spent with the Lord; in those times of prayer and faithfully studying His word; that was when the Alpha & Omega Suite came to it's composer. This didn't happen instantaneously, but slowly and consistently over the course of nine years, beginning in 2000 and going through 2008. Accuracy to God's Word was more important than finishing the Suite quickly, which is a process that flies in contrast with the way things are normally done in our throw-away, media-centered culture. But, when dealing with the concept of God, it's important that our proclamation is based upon what He has revealed of Himself and not on the imaginations of fallen humanity.
