We started out knowing it was an illusion... realizing that an illusion can never satisfy. But after a while we forgot, and bought totally into the illusion, expecting it to provide what it is not capable of. At that point, our time; emotions; resources; mental facilities; and income were channeled into something which was feeding off from our self... and yet we wanted it that way! We were hooked.
Ponder on those areas in your life this might apply to.

Just a thought: Mass media provides our largest source of highwayed information! These media empires are professional purveyors of illusion. We freely invite them into our home on a continual basis.

- In those wee hours of the morning; in those quiet, private times spent with the Lord; in those times of prayer and faithfully studying His word; that was when the Alpha & Omega Suite came to it's composer. This didn't happen instantaneously, but slowly and consistently over the course of nine years, beginning in 2000 and going through 2008. Accuracy to God's Word was more important than finishing the Suite quickly, which is a process that flies in contrast with the way things are normally done in our throw-away, media-centered culture. But, when dealing with the concept of God, it's important that our proclamation is based upon what He has revealed of Himself and not on the imaginations of fallen humanity.
