The Alpha & Omega Suite didn't begin as a concept. It started out as individual songs which only had one thing in common... they each conveyed strong doctrine as given by the Spirit through His written Word and conveyed to me through quiet times and Bible study.
"In The Beginning" was composed in 2001 and was the first song written after I realized there would be a unity and structure enveloping the individual pieces. They would be blanketed together as a whole suite of scriptural pieces, each showing a glimpse of God's revelation about Himself and His deeds throughout humanity's history, culminating in His coming and revealing the gospel.
May, 2011 marks the sixth month I've been scoring the tracks, so they can be a part of the Seasons arrangement of 'tAaOS'. In The Beginning is now under arrangement, as begun on May 1st (my birthday).

- In those wee hours of the morning; in those quiet, private times spent with the Lord; in those times of prayer and faithfully studying His word; that was when the Alpha & Omega Suite came to it's composer. This didn't happen instantaneously, but slowly and consistently over the course of nine years, beginning in 2000 and going through 2008. Accuracy to God's Word was more important than finishing the Suite quickly, which is a process that flies in contrast with the way things are normally done in our throw-away, media-centered culture. But, when dealing with the concept of God, it's important that our proclamation is based upon what He has revealed of Himself and not on the imaginations of fallen humanity.
